 GJD Services awarded RAF VC10 Contract

GJD Services has been awarded by BAe the contract for removing from service and disposing of the Royal Air Force's VC10 fleet.

The work will include taking delivery of the aircraft in line with the fleet rundown program, removing assets as required and reducing the aircraft to scrap if required.

The majority of the work will be conducted at our Bruntingthorpe facility, with the exception of those aircraft destined for preservation. These aircraft will also be handled and spares recovered as well as prepared for display and made safe by GJD Services at their final destination.

GJD AeroTech is currently working towards achieving MIL-145 approval, to enhance our inspection and certification capability of removed parts, allowing serviceable parts to enter the supply chain directly, thus supporting the remaining fleet from day one of the disposal process.
